Gumball/candy machines are becoming increasingly less common, and with the ease and prevalence sweet packets, there is little incentive to use a single dispense candy machine. When asked to design a candy dispenser I decided it needed to have an added feature to be competitive in its market. Some existing candy machines have utilized the visual experience of the product, for example watching a candy spiral down ramp when initiated.

However, displays like the one above are outdated and have lost their amusement compared to other entertainment options for kids todays. Children would rather play arcade (or phone) games then watch a candy machine, so I decided to combine the game aspect into the machine.

My candy machine is interactive. Depending on the amount of pressure the user applies to the lever, the candies will be given a variable amounts of force, and will go into different scoring holes. The ability the user has to impact the outcome makes it more exciting to use, and incentivizes them to beat their previous score.
